Group Retail Health and Safety Manager

This pivotal leadership role is responsible for building a proactive safety culture, ensuring WHS compliance, reducing workplace incidents and workers compensation claims, and partnering with leaders to create safe environments for team members, customers and contractors.
How you will add value:
- Develop and deliver the Group-wide Retail Health & Safety strategy across multiple retail brands
- Lead the Health & Safety and Workers Compensation programs, driving early intervention and injury prevention initiatives
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Group policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Foster a strong safety culture through leadership, coaching, accountability and continuous improvement
- Drive reductions in LTIFR, TRIFR and workers compensation claims through proactive risk management
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
- Partner with operational leaders to support their Health & Safety responsibilities and capability development
- Oversee Health & Safety reporting, including Board-level insights, metrics and KPI performance
- Design and deliver training programs that strengthen organisational capability and meet due diligence obligations
About You:
- Extensive Health & Safety leadership experience within a multi-site retail environment
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and Workers Compensation frameworks
- Proven success developing and implementing safety strategies across complex organisations
- Experience managing claims, injury management and return-to-work programs
- Strong stakeholder engagement, coaching and influencing skills across all leadership levels
- Data-driven with excellent analytical, problem-solving and reporting capabilities
- Passionate about building high-performing teams and fostering a positive safety culture
