About The Opportunity:

You will be responsible for delivering budgeted gross profit and stock turn while driving innovation and merchandising excellence. This role involves analysing market trends, developing strategies to maximise sales and profitability, while collaborating closely with General Manager Product & Design to execute the product strategy. Working with Product Managers, ensuring product ranges meet and exceed customer demand, while partnering with functional teams to achieve seamless end-to-end delivery. And we are moving to Chadstone.

How you will spend your day:

Merchandise Strategy:

  • Develop and execute category strategies
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to create seasonal ranges that exceed customer expectations
  • Partner with the Category Planning Manager to implement merchandise plans informed by sales data, market trends and customer insights
  • Identify growth opportunities and translate them into actionable strategies, influencing budget setting
  • Continuously enhance efficiencies and improve processes to deliver on sales targets

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Visual Merchandising teams to communicate product visions and plan campaigns
  • Work with Risk and Quality teams to optimise sourcing strategies
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Retail Operations to ensure seamless execution across the value chain

Product Ranging:

  • Lead concept reviews to ensure product ranges align with the creative and strategic vision
  • Analyse sales performance to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies
  • Utilise data-driven insights to optimise product offerings

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor Product Managers to deliver innovative and effective strategies
  • Foster collaboration across departments to ensure cohesive delivery of merchandise plans
  • Support and develop team members to achieve their full potential

Customer Focus:

  • Stay attuned to customer preferences and industry trends to inform category performance and innovation

About You:

  • Proven experience in a Product leadership position within Merchandising, Retail Management or a related field environment. Experience with Furniture, Homewares or other Home & Living categories is essential.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring teams, with the ability to drive collaboration across departments
  • Strong ability to analyse market trends, develop innovative product strategies and identify growth opportunities
  • In-depth understanding of customer preferences, industry trends and the retail landscape
  • Experience working with Planning, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Retail Operations and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless execution
  • A degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising or a related field (preferred)
