Be part of a supportive payroll team reporting to the Payroll Manager, where you’ll own payroll for dedicated business units while working closely with others to deliver a seamless end-to-end function. This role suits a Payroll Officer who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys full ownership of a fast-paced pay cycle.

How you will spend your day

  • Take complete ownership of the fortnightly Australian retail payroll
  • Validate, reconcile and process high-volume data from multiple sources
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, awards and internal controls
  • Be the primary contact for payroll queries across the retail network
  • Investigate discrepancies, analyse data, and resolve issues quickly
  • Work with UKG (T&A) and HR3 (processing) to ensure clean, accurate inputs
  • Maintain strong checks and balances across the entire payroll workflow
  • Support process improvements and question the status quo to drive efficiency

About You

  • Experienced in end-to-end, high-volume payroll processing
  • Comfortable owning a pay run from start to finish
  • Exceptional attention to detail - accuracy matters to you
  • Confident interpreting awards and applying them correctly
  • Data-savvy with strong Excel skills (including XLOOKUPs, pivot tables, formulas)
  • Curious and proactive - you ask why and look for better ways of working
  • Outstanding customer service skills and a calm, helpful approach
  • Experience with UKG is highly regarded; HR3 experience is a bonus, not essential

Retail or FMCG experience will serve you well. There is an occasional requirement to work public holidays to meet payroll delivery timelines.
