This is an exciting time to come on board as we enter a new phase of growth and innovation. As our Senior Data Engineer you will lead the design, build and optimization of our data ecosystem. In this role, you’ll shape our modern data platform, drive best-practice engineering and play an instrumental part in our data transformation roadmap.
How you will spend your day
Data Pipelines & Integration
- Design, build and maintain scalable pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks and Microsoft Fabric
- Ensure high-quality, reliable data through monitoring, automation and optimisation
- Partner with analysts, engineers and business teams to deliver the right data at the right time
Data Warehousing & Modelling
- Lead the development of ETL processes (SSIS) from legacy SQL Server environments
- Build dimensional models and schemas to support analytics and enterprise reporting
- Ensure data structures meet evolving business needs
Data Migration & Modernisation
- Drive the migration to modern data lake and warehouse platforms
- Ensure minimal disruption, data integrity and a seamless transition
- Collaborate across teams to deliver a scalable, future-ready data landscape
Governance, Security & Automation
- Champion data quality, governance, accessibility and security
- Implement access controls, encryption and masking for sensitive data
- Integrate pipelines with CI/CD, automation and DevOps practices
About You
- 5+ years in data engineering, warehousing and ETL development
- Advanced capability in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, SSIS and SQL Server
- Strong skills in Python, SQL and scripting (PowerShell/Bash)
- Deep experience in data modelling, governance and best practice
- A collaborative communicator who translates technical work into business value
- Degree in Computer Science, IT or similar (post-grad is a bonus)
- Experience with agile and DevOps practices highly regarded
- Microsoft certifications desirable
