About The Opportunity:

The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial records, compliance with regulatory and ASX reporting requirements, and contributing to financial reporting and analysis. The role involves a mixture of month-end close, statutory reporting, tax compliance, process / internal control improvement and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.

How you will spend your day:

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, prepare accurate balance sheet reconciliations, analyse financial performance and assist in management and board reporting
  • Assist with preparing consolidated financial statements, support external audits and ensure compliance with AASB/IFRS
  • Lead tax compliance and coordinate with external advisors, prepare tax returns and remain updated on legislation changes
  • Identify opportunities and implement ways to improve financial processes, controls and reporting efficiencies
  • Partner with internal departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making

About You:

  • CPA/CA Qualification
  • Previous experience in financial accounting, preferably within an ASX-listed company or Big 4
  • Strong knowledge of AASB/IFRS, and ASX reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and accounting consolidations
  • Previous experience upkeeping financial controls and developing accounting policies
  • Previous exposure to tax compliance (preferably tax return preparation)
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably Microsoft AX/365)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Previous experience working in a Retail/FMCG industry (preferred)
