About The Opportunity:

Reporting to the GM of Planning, the Senior Merchandise Planner of Kids has the goal of optimising department performance by implementing strategies to achieve sales, gross margin and inventory goals across your category. This is a 12 month fixed term contract with the intent to go permanent.

How you will spend your day:

• Proactively forecasting and managing sales, profit and inventory in line with targets, working collaboratively with the product team, retail operations and supply chain
• Driving reporting and analysis, providing actionable insights, recommendations and decisions on current and future trading patterns
• Developing optimised range and option plans which offer the right mix of product to meet customer needs in line with forward strategy
• Planning and executing strategies to manage product lifecycle and ensuring aged stock is cleared in a timely manner.
• Lead and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

About You:

• Demonstrated experience in retail merchandise planning and its disciplines, including OTB management, range planning, product lifecycle management and allocation.   
• Experience in leading and developing a team towards achieving departmental goals
• A passion in understanding not just the numbers, but what sits behind them
• Experience working in a fast-paced multi-channel environment with a diverse portfolio of departments
• Analytical mindset with confident decision-making skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
